Bebo says NO to bikni

Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar wanted to shoot the title song of Heroine with Kareena Kapoor wearing a bikini or a Manish Malhotra designed swimsuit. But the actress politely said no and the director was stunned. Even the head honcho of UTV Motion Pictures tried to reason with her but to no avail.

The director and producers could not fathom why Kareena was so adamant in not wearing a swimsuit when she so engrossingly enacted some very bold scenes in the film including intimate episodes.

Kareena reportedly told Bhandarkar that she is sentimental about wearing a two piece swimsuit as it is unlucky for her. All her films where she donned a bikini — Ashoka, Kambakkht Ishq and Tashan — have bombed at the box office. So Manish Malhotra was asked to design something that will not get Kareena into a flop sentiment.

Taapsee slams the rumours

Glamorous actress Taapsee Pannu has cleared all air on the rumors surrounding the news that she's sharing the screen space with 'Natasimha' Nandamuri Balakrishna in "Aditya 999", a sequel to "Aditya 369". Recently, it was reported that Taapsee has signed Balakrishna's upcoming film Aditya 999, after Anushka failing to accommodate dates to the film. However, the Delhi-based actress has clarified that she's not doing the film and all the reports are false.

Aditya 999 is tipped to be the sequel to yesteryear blockbuster Adithya 369 (1991). So with Taapsee's fresh revelation, it looks like the makers still have not finalized the female lead for the film. Adithya 999 is directed by Singeetham Sreenivasa Rao, (who also directed Aditya 369) and produced by Vinod while Konda Krishnam Raju is presenting it.

Naga Chaitanya will be the latest "Majnu"

Naga Chaitanya will reprise the role of his father Nagarjuna in the 1987 film Majnu produced and directed by Dasari Narayana Rao. The film was a tragic love story and starred Rajini as the heroine. It also had music composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal.

The remake will be directed by Venu Sriram who recently helmed the critically acclaimed movie Oh My Friend. The remake also will be titled Majnu. The script work is in progress to give a contemporary feel to the tragic story. Prakash Raj is likely to reprise the role played by Gummadi in the original.

The Majnu remake would be produced by Nagarjuna under the Annapurna Studios banner. The music for the film will be composed by Devi Sri Prasad.

Feast for Balayya Fans

Hero Nandamuri Balakrishna has been coming up with consistent flops in the recent past and barring ‘Simha’ he has given almost ten flops. But here is the thing. None of the films have flunked due to Balayya. It was due to the poor script, weak taking or bad presentation. Balayya’s performances have always been committed.

And now the time has come for Balayya fans to slam their thighs. The reason we say this is after hearing reports about his act in the new movie ‘Uu Kodathara Ulikki Padathara’. It is heard that Balayya has come up with a power packed performance in the film

Buzz is that it is a combo of ‘Peddarayudu’ Mohan Babu and ‘Simha’. It is slated to be a high voltage power grid from Balayya which will give goosebumps to audience. If this is true then it is a festival for Balayya fans. Inside talk is that the dialogues, character, characterization has been perfectly etched for Balayya. Let us wait for the film then.

London bhama "Ekkado Naram Naligipoyindi"

Stunned by the sizzling shapes and tempting dance movements of London born Scarlett Wilson for Ramcharan’s 'Yevadu’ item number and also for ‘Imported Kamariya’ number in Dibakar Banerjee’s ‘Shanghai,’ director Puri Jagannath could not control his nerves. He has immediately roped Scarlett for pawan kalyan’s ‘Cameraman Ganga Tho Ram Babu.’ Yes, Puri Jagannadh is currently shooting with her at Saradhi Studios for an item song which goes like ‘Ekkado Naram Naligipoyindi.’

Music for the song is scored by Mani Sharma and Puri is likely to close this song in next two days. Specialty of this song is the Srikakulam accent used. Although Abbai Cherry danced earlier than Babai Pawan but ‘Yevadu’ would release in next year while ‘Ram Babu’ would hit the screens on October 18, as announced earlier. Its a mere coincidence that Pawan loves this Srikaulam accent and enjoys singing the folk tunes

'Heroine' smokes and boozes !!

Madhur Bhandarkar has released a picture from his forthcoming film Heroine on the microblogging site which shows Kareena Kapoor with a lighted cigarette and holding a glass of alcohol. Unit sources say that Kareena plays the role of a disillusioned superstar trying to come to terms with her sagging popularity and so her frustration is reflected in the scenes where she smokes and drinks.

In the National Award winning film The Dirty Picture, Vidya Balan too had scenes of smoking and boozing. In Guzaarish, Aishwarya Rai was seen holding a lighted cigarette with her fingers. Then Priyanka Chopra was seen smoking in another National Award winning film Fashion. Deepika padukone was shown puffing away in the film Karthik Calling Karthik.

In contrast, no top male star was seen smoking on screen in the recently released movies except Shah Rukh Khan in Don 2 and Sanjay Dutt in Agneepath.

Heroes are inconvenient due to Star Comedian

The star comedian who is the virtual hero of most Sreenu Vaitla's films has now become a trouble for him. It is because of the inconvenience, other heroes are feeling due to Brahmi's presence.

Ace comedian Brahmanandam gets meaty roles in star director Vaitla's movies always. Recently we have seen this duo creating magic in 'Dookudu' that made audiences spell bound. However, there are sharp criticisms that Brahmi is looking like the hero of this director's films as he is getting lengthy roles alongside main leads. The same question is said to be haunting the team of Jr.NTR. An insider revealed that Junior's people are forcing Sreenu Vaitla to tone down the role of Brahmi, such that the hero will get highlighted. May be this is the reason behind the delay in the start of 'Baadshah' shoot.

Well, Jr.NTR's only hope is the success of 'Baadshah', as the complete band of Nandamuri heroes are going through a rough patch now. But the question is how Sreenu Vaitla is going to handle this trouble as Brahmi is the spine of his flicks.

The 9th episode of Aamir Khan’s TV show Satyamev Jayate focused on the problems of excessive drinking and the issue of alcoholism.

Alcoholism has become an accepted norm in the upper middle class society of urban India. Be it a social gathering or be it a family function, the society doesn’t consider alcohol as something which can bother their normal behaviour.

The show started with Vijay Simha’s confessions. His story was a glaring example of what alcohol can do to a normal being’s life and ended with Dr Vivek Benegal’s stats which say that we are seriously ‘dangerous’ drinkers. As per Dr Benegal, Indians are consuming way more alcohol than the people of other countries.

Alcoholism may not look harmful at the first glance but nobody can be sure about when can it change your mood to do something silly and irreversible.

Actress-turned-producer Lakshmi Manchu is full of praise for Nandamuri Balakrishna who played the pivotal role of Narasimha Rayudu in her second venture 'Oo Kadathara Ulikki Padathara'.

Sharing her experience on working with Balakrishna, Lakshmi revealed that all the unit members feared initially as they had no idea how the star would be on the sets, but the actor made them feel comfortable. She says Balayya is like a child and he does anything without a second thought if the director asks him to do. After watching the actor's passion for cinema, excitement for every shot and dedication towards the work on the sets, Lakshmi has become a big fan of Balayya.
